Search for Issues that have attachments

forums-5
Hello,
is it possible to search for only issues that have attachments?
I cannot find this. I found where you can enable attachments and other attachment topics but not how to search for them...

There used to be a plugin called, something like "searchable attachments".  That may allow do what you are looking for.  I have never used it though so I can't give any sort of recommendation.

There's also a field for "count of attachments" which is searchable (so you can define a filter for "All issues where count > 0").  It won't help you find anything in the attachments, just the issues that have one or more files.

is this a custom field Nic?  I don't have anything like that.  I do have a "number of comments" field.  Which doesn't help us at all in this case :)

Isn't that included with a plug-in, not out of the box?

Third custom field down in the [Jira Toolkit|https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JTOOL/JIRA+Toolkit+Plugin] - "Number of comments and attachments"

As you say, won't help you in the blindest bit if you're looking for content, or even filename, but at least you can get a list of issues and know that they have attachments!

Re: Search for Issues that have attachments

Yes, correct.  Drop the .jar file in place, and restart Jira (make sure you download a version that is compatible with your version of Jira).  Then go to Admin -> Custom fields and add a new field.  You should find "Number of attachments" is listed as one of the types, so select that, and give your new field a nice name like "Number of attachments".  I usually give it a global context and stick it on all the "view" screens.

there is afull-text search add-on Full-text Search Attachments for JIRA avalaible. See it's home page

With it you can query for:

    issue in havingAttachments()
    issue in havingAttachments("search text")
    issue in havingAttachments("type:pdf")
    issue in havingAttachments("name:workflow type:png")

It can search by any attachments, attachments with content, specific name or type. So you can search pdf, txt, doc files and any more!
